Task Force 43, Christchurch, New Zealand A U.S. Air Force C-130a 'Hercules' receives a load of jet fuel for its four turbo prop engines prior to take off from Christchurch International Airport. Eight Hercules of the tactical air command 61st. Troop carrier squadron flying in support of Operation Deep Freeze were the first planes to use JP-4 fuel in New Zealand. The fuel was brought into New Zealand for the giant turbo props by standard vacuum oil company, which supplies the planes of Deep Freeze with fuel.
