Event NameNZARP Historic Hut Restoration and Site Inspection February 1973AbstractA party of tewo men were placed on Ridley Beach by USCG 'Burton Island' on 5 February 1973and spent two weeks on this site. The objective priarily was to assess the condition of the three huts and make a detailed report of damage| lumber| equipment available and work required to restore the buildings where practicable. Repairs to prevent further deterioration were effected and items of equipment salvaged from the derelict buildings and where scattered externally. A good photographic coverage of the huts (exterior and interior)| penguin rookery| coastline and items of interest has resulted. Observations of flora and fauna were recorded and six hourly primary meteorological readings were taken when possible.
